Digital Membership & Member Service Policies
Effective: 24 September 2026 · Production working policy, subject to registered bye-laws and applicable Nigerian law.
Digital membership
Approved digital onboarding is a mode of administration, not a lesser class of membership. Active members receive a permanent member number and may receive a secure digital membership credential and Member Portal account.
Member responsibilities
Members must keep contact information current, provide truthful application information, protect credentials, comply with lawful policies and use Cooperative services only for legitimate purposes.
KYC and verification
Identity verification may be required before activation or access to selected services. A failed or incomplete verification can pause an application without automatically creating an entitlement to membership.
Contributions and withdrawals
Only verified provider events and reconciled ledger records create financial status on the platform. Withdrawal requests remain subject to available balance, controls, review, provider processing and applicable programme rules.
Orientation and programmes
Orientation, community participation and programme eligibility may be tracked digitally. Individual programmes can have additional eligibility, documentation, contribution and risk requirements.
Complaints
Members should first contact the Cooperative through admin@obitcooperative.com. Financial-provider complaints may also need to follow the relevant provider's regulated complaint process.
Updates
Operational policies may be updated where lawful. Changes to registered bye-laws or protected constitutional provisions require the governance and registration process prescribed by applicable law.
